Finished the story, SLVL21.
Started the game on day 1 of global release.
I don't mind speeding up the schedule but we should get more rewards since we're skipping so many filler patch events and daily gem gains. And it's absolutely miserable to not be able to pull new standard characters until they're as good as irrelevant due to the 6 months of jailtime. Especially once Howler and Turbo are in the game, its night and day to have access to these two.

Just tested to confirm I am also not getting yellow bonus score, and the points given for damage are not being doubled for me for Shuns Smash. Doesn't get bonus with or without desperado, with or without fairy dust or whatever the boss buff on Titania is. So the interaction you are describing is also happening to me.

Tested more and found that standard no-health weapon attacks and persona skill health-cost physical attacks for non-physical characters (Shun & Leon) and Wonder do not get the bonus. However, ALL damage from a physical character is getting the point bonus. So Shun's Smash Hit doesn't get a point bonus, but Ryuji's Shotgun and Lightning Bolt are both triggering bonus points. So instead of "Ally Physical Attack Score 2x" it's actually "Physical Ally Any Attack Score 2x". Anything Ryuji or presumably Messa does gets the score bonus, but no one else doing physical attacks will get the bonus.

Actually doing the math to figure if something is bugged is one thing, but in general if the score popup that accompanies the damage is blue it's no bonus points regular score and if it's orange its bonus points double score.

I think the bleed damage depiction is weird. Now I actually think the first number you see is ONE stack of bleed and the second number is the total damage of all stacks, aka what is phys and almighty isn't even discernible.

Considering the damage of skill 1 (in fancy mode) is only a little higher than the bleed, but has like more than twice the damage multiplier, I'd say this makes the most sense.

With some more testing, I figured out that just triggering bleed ain't it, because there's this 40% final damage buff on HP usage going on, which also affects bleed but won't be something you get unless you use the second form's skills as only those cost HP. This is why the bleed looks so "high" in comparison with the nuke, as the buff doesn't affect the skill it's gained from. (but it will affect the next skill used)

Lot's of weird min maxing you can do. Also weird how in the velvet room the final boss turn does NOT trigger the dot anymore, but in the guild battle one IT DOES trigger the bleed so your "finisher" would be worse than just using the normal skill.

Anyways, score obviously depends on how you play him. SMoko is great, don't need ailment card and can get either ATK or crit, no idea what's actually better, Ayaka is human rights for him (not just due to the big damage of the nuke, but also providing a bleed stack refresh on turn 3. Ayaka with max dupes is downright retarded for him but that's only guild battle for me I have 0 for her).
Then you need to make sure to close to 100% def down, very important. And with the aforementioned supports pic related happens for me. I might do some more tests with other cards in the crit slot.

Ryuji doesn't apply debuffs for the Debuff Stacking passive, and God Handing every other turn means he wont stack the Continuous Attack passive. Pirate Tactics to try to keep up Continuous Attack is cutting too much into his main DPS to try to stack the bonus DPS.

Night is exclusively reserved for Shiina's synergy atm until Rank 17 from where I will start grinding Messa's.

We've gone through this before.

Notable changes: -Skill 1 in mode change got triple the base damage, so its total multiplier is now 450% (rending included) instead of 280%.
-Highlight base damage got doubled (~500% now) and can rend (+200) which I'm not sure if it could before.

The almighty % based damage is really not that big of a deal. Maybe 10% of his damage right now.

It's like using an almighty build in a regular megaten game. It's not always the best solution, but it works almost everywhere when the boss resists all your other damage dealing options because the game needs to shill its featured DPS.
The curse dot damage is considered almighty, so you build for almighty damage on Pazuzu and use Demonic Decree or Eigaon to add more curse stacks.
Sepia himself should spam S1; that's where his curse stacks are coming from.
He only cares about ailment accuracy and atk mult/dmg bonus, so he's pretty easy to build. Use Wisdom/Oppression or Wisdom/Pleasure if possible.
There's some other fancy stuff you can pull off like buying Lilith to use the 3rd palace dagger, or using Anubis' highlight for more curse stacks.
In my opinion, the red dagger is more than enough, and Sepia is pretty much never the best option anyway so you should be as cheap as you want with your build.

Pic related is my score for the 2nd half of the current SOS. Is it better than Bui or Queen? Definitely not, but I have neither and it's much better than what I could have done with Closer.

I checked the normal skill, and the ATK% that rending deals fits. I checked the highlight and rending deals too much damage compared to the base damage. WEBM related shows you the 478% HL hits for 264k damage. Rending on lvl 9 is 64% ATK based damage. Based on the HL damage you should be dealing 35k damage per additional tick, yet it's 50k damage. The only explanation is: Rending "can crit" based on endgame.

The ONLY alternative to this is, that def down can go below 100% because rending actually gets bonus pierce from the sig weapon (25%) but then why is the damage 1 to 1 fitting for the skill 1 in mode 2? Continued.

Here's the skill. 244% ATK: 156k damage. Thus a rending stack should deal 40k ish damage if it "can crit" like the other part of the damage. Exactly what happens.

I'm quite confused about this, but maybe the "rending can't crit" is more a thing because its damage is calculated based on the base attack critting or not. Aka, if it COULD crit it'd double crit. This is the only explanation I have.

tl;dr: Rending crits if the base skill crits, but it doesn't show as a crit (?). It's additional damage similar to Makoto's skill 3 that behaves based on the first hit.

Because Futaba is around the corner, newer bosses are made to resist Messa's DoT that was basically his entire career, and also because Ryuji ages like fine wine.
He gets pretty crazy once we get characters like Turbo and Ange.
Right now Ryuji is better than Messa on CN in terms of damage he can dish out at high awareness compared to Messa, but on GL with his multiplier buffs Messa might age better instead. Still, the difference is probably not gonna be that big.

we all know the "problem" messa has is that he was busted in sos not shilling him and they nerfed this by disabling his %hp damage in future sos , global already got this (doesn't matter for this sos since he's still the best due to the mechanics benefitting him)

so the problem is that messa is not usable in every sos... ok. what 5* dps is ? and by usable I mean better than a unit of the right element that has been released in the same sos

if you don't have the right unit for the sos you're cooked and should just take the L... that's how it works.. so I don't see why messa is bad because of that when he deals nice damage anyways without considering the %HP damage

you can argue you don't NEED to pull for messa because you have ryuuji to cover for the element . altho like I said current content doesn't favour ryuuji as it needs multiple hits as mechanics. but even out of this sos I don't see a non dupes ryuuji beating messa. hitting every 2 turns kinda sucks as far as I have seen. even if he's single target, messa can deal with adds himself as the bleed stacks transfer. and im pretty sure with similar invest ryuuji just doesn't outdps him in single target fights
