The better way to make currency is to get to maps earlier than others and either sell desired uniques/items or craft, which given your lack of game knowledge you won't be able to do. You can farm whatever, as long as you stick to it. More hours => more loot.

Your priority is completing your atlas - each map gives you a point on the tree which makes your chosen farming better - and getting to four voidstones, which is achieved by following the carrots on the endgame quest.

there's a guy in hardcore that played crushing fist to above 90 two leagues in a row, and his tech is actually really cool. crushing fist -> max impales on hit mastery -> yoink the impales out of the enemy with call of steel, you use a level steel skill to get it. if you dont one shot everything then yoinking the impales out will two shot them. it's neat. but very clunky

Basically just invest in lockcoin and mirrorcoin. They're both always good. Yes, early lockcoin holders won last league. It's not always that way. Fewer people are going to be running ships this league due to gold constraints so mirror supply will stay much lower.

If you can get into flesh/flamecoin you can't go wrong with meta witch/templar nodes or the niche sabo/assassin nodes that define builds.
