There are other grips with no downsides. Alloy reduces recoil with no penalty for 20 points. Slim angled reduces recoil and has faster ADS time for 25 points. The balance is that they're worse at reducing recoil than an equivalent cost grip which does have a downside.

Hit the XP cap today too, almost done with the "mandatory" part of the grind (canonically big mags for Vivi, Cheeta and APC10; ADS speed grips for ARs with heavy barrels and all LMGs; ADS bolts, rangefinders, long barrels and long-range ammo for snipers, etc), all that's left is

I really don't feel like you're wrong. Support is essentially the new Assault, Assault sits in the corner and eats glue. Every single change they made has big impacts on gameplay. The battles and fights do not feel like they did because everybody is always healing and restocking ammo since Support is the most useful class. They completely fucked these games.

As late as bf1 and V classes were very important. In bf1 each class had a clearly defined optimal range which you had to respect (unless the personal skill difference was so high that you could just yolo through the firefight), in bf5 this was the case as well (though to a lesser degree but still) and you could focus priority targets to prevent medics getting into the cap point or supports getting prone behind some rock from where they'll be very difficult to dislodge. You knew who can bring what, what their optimal range is, what kind of grenade will be thrown at you, will that one guy diving into the trench reanimate like fifteen people or can you let him go and focus on something more important etc

They're way too easy to use in this game. It used to be relatively difficult and extremely satisfying to hit a jet or even a heli with a TOW, now I do it multiple times every match.

The problem is ultimately the small maps with clustered points. As a pilot you're in lock-on range the moment you take off, and there is really nowhere to go to avoid it. You just spend the entire game trying to evade lock-ons while flying in the same boring circle, occasionally cutting across the middle to bomb a target.
A properly sized map would have varied terrain and tall buildings, with enough space between points and around the perimeter that you could safely fuck off a bit without being seen to strategize or chase other jets. By spreading points out you also spread infantry out and make the game less predictable, so the pilot isn't just shooting fish in a barrel.
The SPAA could be buffed to make it properly dangerous, with the balance being that you can just avoid it IF you know where it is.

i think my favorite glitch in a game was in MW2019
for whatever reason, if you had a thermal smoke and an underbarrel grenade launcher, launcing a grenade would CTD PC users and boot console users out of their games, killing the whole lobby
