for something that was hyped up by many, i didn't see anyone discuss the type 5 heavy armor changes.
tested against 340mm penetration HEAT. it looks fine.
combined with the damage increase to 700, type 5 heavy is shaping up to be an interesting damage trading beast on flat ground.
really, really suffers against hulldown targets though. 290mm penetration AP is not enough against many turrets these days...

It's an up close and personal trader. It being much taller than the enemy, allow it to hit tank from the top which weaken the enemy's angled armor. You play it like the E100 as the wall to defend a flank. If enemy is hulldown, you have the option to just spot them with your gun and not engage until they get bored and push, that's when you punish them.

tier 7 O-Ni and tier 8 O-Ho actually got some substantial armor buffs too.
O-Ni holds up pretty well against tier 7 gold and tier 8 standard ammo.
O-Ho have decent armor against tier 8 gold.

I have it and it's good but kind of one dimensional as you'd expect, don't expect to be able to do much except side-scrape in the designated HT area of a map. Gun is decent but pen could be a tad better.

Am I the only one that finds it horrendous to grind though the tech trees? The biggest problem for me is the anemic gun you're forced to use when you get a new tank, that will be considerdably lower than the average pen of the tier, then you're uptiered most of the time too which compounds the issue. They should just give you the best gun as standard when you get a new tank but leave the radio/tracks/engine etc upgrades as it is. I mainly just play premiums and focus on challenges, events and battle passes.

The really meta medium is probably the CS-67, which takes a CS-63 and removes the RNG. I'm quoting from Chems here but the ability to clutch the fuck up and actually land your shots when they matter is what the CS-63 needed most and the CS-67 got that so it should be a really good medium.

Breaker also looks like it'll be pretty meta with a braindead good armor scheme, amazing gun and CRAZY mobility. Yes, the base speed is 20km/h, but it gets up to fucking 40 in the speed mode so you can absolutely get to good positions and farm, and you have braindead camo too as if your armor wasn't enough

What are some good lines to grab? Was thinking of getting the Italian TDs primarily for Last Stand(Kilana) since I won't grind that myself. Not at all interested in the T10 since I'm not sweaty tryhard enough for that.

It's not quite like that, as a new player you start with the T3 for America, USSR and Germany for free. For your first 10 or so games, or until you do *something you get put in 1v1 matches filled with bots.
When switching to RU I used that as a credit boost with the Matilda.
As for the instant TierX, you'd likely get put against retards in your hard to play tank (Maus) for a few games, get somewhat mediocre Credits until you run out from actually grinding, then leave the game since you actually need to fight humans.

Grille 15, Maus, or Leopard 1?
Want something that will unlock a tier XI later down the line. Already claimed the JP Type 5 H. Want to manually grind through one of the American tanks from the beginning to learn the game.

Paper TD, generally one of the worst things one can bring, but its good Damage somewhat make up for it. Terrible dispersion values. Not a good choice

Good DPM, nice accurate gun, fast medium, workable camo and can turret bounce once a match. Very nice tank, but it's better than the Leopard 120, so the TierXI isn't anything to think of at all ever in existence.
>Maus
A beautiful beast to block damage with and win games. Your health is the team's resource and you will be the one to make a game winning push. Also goes to the Taschenratte with the coolest active ability.
Taschenratte does have a weakspot though, even if it's on the side. Still the best TierXI among these 3 listed.

Record/Save match function?
Won my first match by capturing the enemy base and zigzagging the entire time to avoid the sniper guy. Nearly dead lol but he couldn't finish me off. If he had just charged me instead of hanging back and sniping he could have stopped me. I was only in an M3, and I was barely doing damage to him and I didn't want to sit still to get a more accurate shot.
I want to see the match from that guy's perspective, I must have been a really annoying target.

Man, players are scaredy cats. You can be 5v2 guys winning will still be too scared to push. You can see how much health they have left too. The other team is almost dead, what are they afraid of.

Siegfried line sucks, Prokorovka sucks, Ensk Region kind of sucks, the rest are 'aight.

Pretty graphics/art style and nice environmental destruction and big beautiful maps. It's just not clicking with me though. I think I prefer War Thunder's faster pace, and I like being able to move and shoot without any accuracy penalties. I can really play offensively and fast in WT, but you gotta really slow down in WOT. You only have one life too, so it's really punishing when you try to do anything risky or dumb, you don't get any second chances in a match. Even the solo campaign mission against the AI is no joke. Going in, I thought the game would be way more casual, but even though it's not as realistic, the mechanics are still like an esport game. There's no messing around lol, you gotta lock in.

M48 Patton is so nice after the buffs. The gun handling buffs made it a beast.

There's only a few high tier mediums that can really do that right now.

This is the most fun bond tank that I own, pretty flexible, less need for gold (but your HEAT has 395 pen) and can even do some good honest trading with the heavies. Also completed a bunch of the windhund missions yesterday playing without even realising it. Guess I'll go for the Foch 155 next even though it looks like meme.
