Focus of this thread is discussing real ways towards immortality, that can be practiced and experienced by curious humans. Sharing experiences.

All frameworks, serious in the pursuit of the eternal, are welcome.
Critique is good to reflect, but this thread is rooted in the intent to attain immortality and absolute freedom. This intent comes from the realization that life ends. And emergent life can suffer. The experiencing individual will decay and wither along the streams of time and eventually come to face the end. Of course, energy never truly ends. It gets transmuted, recycled, refined. But it is safe to say that the individual entity reading this right now will rapidly approach oblivion of its energetic structure after enough time has passed. Because of biology, which is tied to physicality, which might be tight to metaphysicality, etc.
But really, what is all that stuff? What do we really know in our little cube of reality?

All that matters is focus. Focus on the pursuit and the act, step by step, towards immortality. Towards freedom from all bindings, rules, cycles. It is absolute mastery and power.

option 1: become a doubt that can never be removed
prove to God that there is a superior system than all that is by thinking of something outside of his imagination, likely something that contradicts all of creation

magic doesn't really have an ability to recurse upon itself but if it did you could hypothetically be creating matter within 100 years or even find ways to astral project permanently

option 3: become love itself
in a dream it occurred to me that "death is simply your loved ones being taken from you." Theoretically, if your consciousness became close enough to another soul the two of you could never be destroyed, and reality itself might bend to keep you alive
I would select tulpas as they are closer to your consciousness and with you 24/7 letting you minmax easier
I would select magical exercises like prophantasia to mix consciousness with them, projecting your ego onto the colors practiced daily while you depart into each other
this most likely would result in incredible psychosis and magical abilities

option 4: exponential scrying
the consciousness technology might not exist right now, but if you had deterministic remote viewing or exponential scrying abilities, it would present itself quickly, and again I would choose prophantasia for this exercise as it is reliable

What someone understands as mind, spirit or soul can be individual, which makes using those words a bit tricky.
For me, the inner self is the liminal between conscious self formed by the forces and rules of the human world. DNA, environment, culture, memes, etc.
And the unconscious that makes everything possible.

Right now, I understand the aim for some currents of inner alchemy to be the unification of these parts, which results in total attainment of an everlasting individuality and the reality shaping power of the unconcious.

I believe in the necessity of a proper unification instead of a concentration on one part. A concentration on one part is exactly what would be an antithesis of individual immortality, at least in the way I understand it. A sole conscious self is forever trapped in the world that formed it. A sole liminal is too unruly and chaotic and a sole unconscious is, well, unconscious, mysterious, not individual immortality.

These are different subjects. I do not contest that Enlightenment is equivalent to the death of Ego (in some respects). But the thread is about "Immortality". The esoteric meaning behind "Immortality" is sexual union producing children. If you didn't know that, it means you haven't read enough of the books to see the profuse and unabated sexual references. In the physical context, it involves a union of the opposite sexes, which creates a child, or another (You). Yes, of course, on non-physical levels, it certainly means Enlightenment and I don't disagree. But at a base level it's having children. If you want to "live forever", this is how you do it.

People here talk and talk about foundations and roots and curcuits. Does anyone even have documented evidence of immortality with this practice? I can see how it improves health. But there's no logical reasoning as to why it would lead to immortality. Or is the goal to build up a new spirit body with it? Talking about the daoists here.

Honestly I think it's a lot worse than you probably imagine, and you are skipping steps and aiming too high right now.

1. You are skipping steps because there is no point in comtemplating some grand work like becoming immortal when you haven't even attained a minor supernatural ability yet. It's like preparing to do 10 pull-ups when you know you've never even done 1 push-up.

2. I think there are two groups:
Group 1 - Drowns the market in false or low quality methods so that people waste years on a false path and eventually give up on being a "seeker". I think you missed my point, the path is there and known to those lucky enough to stumble onto it, or lucky enough to be born into the families that pass down that knowledge. For everyone else the knowledge is purposefully covered up, muddled, and hidden.

It's not that we "can't" do it, it's that there are parties actively sabotaging our ability to do that, and if we did we'd likely be quickly killed off and that knowledge would be suppressed.

I've often wondered why every occult forum I went to seemed like larp central, and it confused me greatly that it was like I couldn't find any group of legitimate practitioners. The only conclusion I could come to is that this was on purpose. I have found zero communities, I only have experienced minor progress (if I can even call it that), and it's only came as a result of me gaining some level of proficiency with self hypnosis (helps with inducing trances, gaining more control over your mind and body, etc). Meditation training, trying to silence my mind and my thoughts (Dharana). Saw some progress with that but hit a wall which led to other practices.

Nothing else really. I am not going to spend months practicing something that I can even experience even minor improvement over time. The idea that you will do something for 6 months and then out of nowhere you'll get your first minor result is just not how things work, that's self delusion, and a lot of people get stuck in practices like this because of "sunken cost fallacy".

Sunken cost fallacy is basically they've invested so much time in that it would feel like a waste to quit, so they stick with it so they don't have to admit to themselves that all of that time was wasted, and that ironically just leaves them there wasting more and more time, which makes it harder and harder to move on.

Best example I've seen of that are the qi gong practitioners I've encountered online who have been practicing a specific form of qi gong for years and yet tell me they have never felt qi energy. They come up with all these rationalizations of why the practice is still worth it and that they don't really care about feeling qi anymore because the practice has become about more than that, but it's just cope, it's giving up. They've "sunken" too much time into the practice so as a coping mechanism they refuse to leave it behind and try something else, because then they'd have to admit that they wasted years of time on a subpar or fraudulent practice.

I refuse to get caught up in that cycle. If I don't experience a minor result in like 2 weeks, I won't continue. Nothing takes more than 1 to 2 weeks to produce a minor result, whether it's cardio, weight lifting, etc, you will see some kind of result in 2 weeks time that confirms your efforts are doing something.

It's equally as difficult for me. Getting distracted randomly by the contents of life.

Well if you really want my heartfelt recommendation of sources, I can definitely recommend John Kreiters Magnum Opus trilogy.
In my opinion, a rare glimmer of hope and very suited for the western mind and those inclined to look for their own truth. If you are persistent in study, contemplation and practice, I'm sure you can achieve results. But you should read through the first two books to get a blurry grasp of what it's about. Like any deep system, it takes time and effort to understand.

I realized that it's 100% easier to silence your mind during the exhale (or holding your breath) than with the inhale. It is as if inhaling makes your mind and body immediately become reactive and exhaling and holding your breath makes it become inactive. If I just trained myself to hold my breath for longer and longer this training would become very easy but it would defeat the purpose of the training and I would just be "cheating myself", because I need control over my mind when I'm breathing normally, or else it's not really an "ability" that I've attained.

Either way I will not be focusing on this kind of training for a while. I will return to it after trying other things, that I believe all together will help with this task. I believe that If I can gain energy awareness like qi it would probably help with this in some way (and even if it didn't it would still be interesting and useful in some way). This is why my current focus is energy work training methods (especially qi gong since it is the most well documented and already has documented "next steps" in training, so if you find a method that works you can just naturally progress without guesswork).
