The last batch started off a bunch of things to theorize about. Beyond's kids, his actual plan, his relationship with Nasubi, and despite some other cool stuff in the batch, it doesn't feel like there's a lot to guess. People assume Hisoka is gonna go after Bono, but is there much to actually theorize about there? The only other things would be whether Melody's plan is legitimate, why Wang seems to be in league with Morena, and why Borksen is vital. It feels like there isn't enough information to really try and put the pieces together.

Benjamin's whole march of death leaves things in such an uncertain state, things we assumed were a given don't feel like they'll necessarily still happen in the same way, but it's hard to know how they'll be effected. The problem I got was that I’ve read the wide majority of translated/rated acclaimed manga, from every demographic, I’ve watched most original anime, played and watched a bunch of JRPGS, even dipped in VN and LN.
Now that I’ve consumed a shit ton of Japanese media, there isn’t much to search for if you don’t know Japanese. And I don’t plan to learn Japanese.
There isn’t much manga I haven’t read these days that’s not some obscure axed 3 volumes comedy or something.
Now that I’m past my peak Japanese media phase, Hunter enters a unique space in my consumption mind. Like, I’m not an old head, all the new popular shit people like (chainsaw man, Dandadan, Frieren, bugle call, etc), I enjoy. But none of them are Hunter for me.

If you focus purely on Gon losing his nen and getting mummified and cured by Alluka, sure. The story pretty strongly implies he will learn nen again. But the real loss for Gon was the destruction of his friendship with Killua. Killua still orchestrates the plan to heal Gon but there is a clear gulf in their relationship after Gon blew up on Killua. Gon doesn't follow Killua at the end of the election arc, he goes up the tree to meet Ging and goes back to whale island to bum around while Killua's adventure continues elsewhere.

These two stuck together for the whole story but Gon hurt Killua in a way his walnut brain in incapable of processing and seriously damaged their friendship. Killua spends their entire journey insecure about his friendship with Gon and in two minutes during palace invasion Gon absolutely shits on all the shit Killua was struggling with. Gon bumming around with his mom instead of being out on adventure is consequence. He is literally right back where his journey started with fuck all to show for it and his bro for life just fucked off without him. All because he completely chimped out over an ant.

This is really the only thing that would make sense to me, Beyond doesn't seem to be the type that wants to rule from what little we have seen of him so far.
I don't think Togashi would go the obvious B-Villain route with him since we already have the calamities (and Pariston).
It would also mean Beyond and the Troupe would have the same target which would mean that we could have a Beyond vs Chrollo fight which would give Togashi an opportunity to show off how broken Beyond is.

It was an intentional swap, but you're right that it looks odd. When designing the test, I did it from the premise that opposing types on the chart are similar on the basis that they act around the same thing.
Manipulation and Transmutation are more cerebral and Emitters and Conjurors are more instinctual. Perhaps it's a bit esoteric, but I'm happy that you felt that Transmutation suits you even though that Manipulation was your result.
Enhancers and Specialists, meanwhile, are different forms of "purity", for lack of better phrasing. For them, I felt it appropriate to have the hunt itself be their destination.

Karasu is a more battle orientated version of Genthru and Elder Toguro is weaker creepy version of Youpi. I don't see ether of them stacking up to the royal guards particularly well if spirit power and nen are roughly equated. Bui is an aura jock enhancer who has no tricks just brute strength. Even within his own universe Bui is difficult to get a read on he could have enough juice to beat one of them or die like a chump in 15 seconds. He did tank darkness dragon like a champ so maybe he's the real deal.

That makes sense when you consider their symbol is a spider, an animal that people fear more than it deserves and technically helps humans by setting traps for other pests, and Kurapika himself considered the Nostrade Family scum and his original plan was to arrest them all, but he gradually came to care about them and took over the organization.

However, when you consider their actual rap sheet, this falls apart. Phinks and Feitan have killed non-criminals before: they slaughtered the couriers handling a copy of Greed Island and they went through the game player-killing people who for sure weren't an actual threat to them. Kurapika has only directly killed one person (a spider) and indirectly a second (another spider). The spiders have also killed tons of people who they had no way of knowing if they were criminal or not.

The claim that a bodyguard, a participant in a dangerous game and a spectator of martial combat are all guilty in some way and thus deserve capital punishment is nonsensical, as it would mean literally every single character in the series with any kind of agency deserves to die. Gon isn't innocent, Melody isn't innocent, Leorio isn't innocent, Zushi isn't innocent, Oito isn't innocent - killing all of them is fair game. And if that's the case, then why does the word "innocent" exist? It describes no one.

Togashi intentionally created a world of morally gray characters and put them in difficult situations, but if you want to know someone's true colors, just look at how they act. Killing Uvo made Kurapika sick and Melody does everything she does out of empathy and to prevent conflict, but killing fills Uvo with child-like glee and Feitan enjoys torture.

Conjurer. I get that on most tests. I think I've gotten everything once, but I've gotten Manipulation two or three times and Conjuration like five. The question is whether the actual characters themselves would get the correct results. The problem most tests have is that their questions can be so vague and with such broad appeal that anyone can justify any answer with the appropriate argument. Togashi himself never gave objective rules so he didn't have to worry about pigeonholing himself when coming up with new characters.

I made a test myself and got Manipulation, but it's so granular and I'm right on the line so I could easily get Specialist or Conjurer on a different day.
