The Helldiver had no reinforcements coming, and the other three just show up through the normal shenanigan plot devices and save his bacon. And while they might not be loyal to Super Earth, they all agree that the stars belong to mankind and aliens (as far as they know) are dicks.

Found this in my own search:

They end up failing due to the efforts of local resistance, the original crew of the jump carrier, and a team of special agents sent to the planet. The colony ends up better than ever and starts its own army producing the stolen experimental tech they took from SWAR. For his involvement in this, the main admiral of the story, Vos, gets shitcanned, and the admirals have their wartime powers revoked.
I've read about a quarter/third and can confirm not much happens during the rebellion part that probably takes up most of the story. The loose MC is the male borealan medic from Xipa's squad in Autumn War, who acts more standoffish in this then AW despite his major issues being resolved. I have no idea who bangs who in this.

It kinda is because you have to wait for it to recharge in the middle of a fight instead of having bullets, but beside that there were no interesting guns like terraria anyway. You'd think with all the different sci-fi future games there would have been so many cool weapons to include and reference but it was all the same boring projectile with nothing going on with them.

Starbound was a disaster and rollercoaster of broken promises, chucklefish "hired" amateurs and paid them in exposure. All that is in game is product of slave labor. It has great visuals. Very appealing art style. The game is wide as an ocean and deep as a puddle.
Oh yeah and there's that giant bloat mod, fracking universe, and surprise, it ALSO uses stolen assets. And those mod devs are also narcissistic assholes

their tails are flexible and good at grabbing things, their hair color ranges from dark green to a very light blue/almost white, and they can have freckles.

the human colonization front makes first contact in the Vhales system, assuming it to be uninhabited. the humans discover that the velts live in a sort of techno-barbarism, with nomadic bands living in the jungles, fending for themselves and fighting off dangerous rogue terraforming tech left behind by precursors. humanity wants the old tech and wants to help the velts remove the dangerous machines from their planet.
