I'm assuming they only keep the beavers indoors for a short while.
They're quite useful for recharging groundwater and creating new ecosystems. I'm curious if there are efforts to expand their territory more drastically, they were nearly wiped out by the fur trade. And of course everywhere is having trouble with wildfires.

>it’s innate.
its ingrained in their genetic code through millions/hundreds of thousands of years of evolution.
if you fail you die
so only the successful ones pass on their genes/personality/behavior to their kids and so on.
uncountable generations seeing what came before them did and survived because of it to eventually not need others to learn from, to just "know" to do something or "feel" like its the right thing to do.

alot of monkeys/humans died from drowning until eventually they were simply born knowing how to
human babies have an innate knowledge of how to survive in water
throw a baby into water and their body will just start moving on its own in a productive way.
it just happens without them knowing.
they still need to be taught to consciously swim and understand how to properly survive but those base genetic instincts are built in.

People who have never farmed before know how to grow food. If they were in a situation where they absolutely had to grow something right now the problems would be suitable climate/season, access to fields/greenhouses/planters plus the time required for crops to grow, not lack of knowledge. Seeds + soil + water + sunlight is something any functional human knows will result in food eventually.

No, the problem would be lack of knowledge and infraestructure.
Like the lack of knowledge you have about modern industrial farming.

If you "farmed" with primitive methods today billions would starve, because your crop yields would be shit. Your plants would be weak and they would be eaten by locusts or other pests.

Modern industrial scale farming exists solely thanks to modern pesticides, fertilizers, roundup, mechanized harvesting, and all sorts of things that enable bumper crops to feed millions of people.

Entire regions now do farming thanks to fertilizers otherwise their soils wouldn't even be able to sustain it. For example the cerrado region in Brazil is seeded with phosphorus to enable farming there. Otherwise nothing would grow.

Organic, subsistence farming can only get you so far. Homesteading is enough for a small family just fine but you can't feed millions of people without modern industrial inputs. No industrial farming -> Millions of starving people from the cities would pour into the countryside to loot your shit.
