i don't think the analogy quite fits, since a place like that would just be barren
pol is actively inhospitable and gets people worked up, even if they're there to look for good threads
i guess there is an aspect of that though, like people excitedly "looking for gold" might be part of what draws new users there
Anonymous (ID: v9kYPMKJ) United States No.23087061 [Report] >>23087098

maybe not, i barely go there as it is. when i do go, the gold i sift for, is of any bits of intelligence ahead of the curve. like how covid was mentioned in november 2019, and the public only took it seriously in march 2020.

so many blue boards suffer from that inherent agitation though. for example, i try to go onto /o/ and enjoy my enthusiasm for cars, but am met with people trying to prove their superiority by beating their chest the loudest. it's like, where are the actual /o/tists? shit is stressful and uncomfy.

yeah
it colonizes everything, it's fucked
>when i do go, the gold i sift for, is of any bits of intelligence ahead of the curve.
that is probably a good use for these sites, they're very sensitive to breaking stuff like that & grab onto it before anyone else
although for each piece of intelligence they get several months ahead of the curve, there's four other things which look like they MIGHT become important which never do
if that makes sense

You and the psycho cultist are the same. You rape your dog and bust on its face and he rips puppies limb from limb. You're both being cruel and torturing animals and because of that you both need to be put in the ground. You should be buried together. Drawing over yourself is useless because 4chan is gonna find you and hunt you down. You and I both know it and you'll get what's coming to you

While 4chan has been regarded as the asshole of the internet, the reality is it's just a place for people to post with no baggage attached. The only real prerequisite is being able to ignore posts you don't care about (a valuable skill that A LOT of the internet seems to have forgotten).
Sure that means lots of edgy shitlords, but also honest discussion about any topic without giving a damn about pointless distractions. All that matters is the merit of the post, nothing else. I wish other sites had that quality about them.

wikipedia made a legal challenge against part of the new uk online safety act.
https://wikimediafoundation.org/news/2025/08/11/wikimedia-foundation-challenges-uk-online-safety-act-regulations/
>[Wikipedia's] legal challenge focuses solely on the new Categorisation Regulations that risk imposing Category 1 duties (the OSA’s most stringent obligations) on Wikipedia.
>If enforced on Wikipedia, Category 1 demands would undermine the privacy and safety of Wikipedia’s volunteer contributors, expose the encyclopedia to manipulation and vandalism, and divert essential resources from protecting people and improving Wikipedia, one of the world’s most trusted and widely used digital public goods.
the
the high court of justice dismissed the challenge.

https://metro.co.uk/2025/08/12/wikipedia-loses-online-safety-act-challenge-mean-internet-23882890/
quote from official high court judgment.
>I stress that this does not give Ofcom and the Secretary of State a green light to implement a regime that would significantly impede Wikipedia’s operations. If they were to do so, that would have to be justified as proportionate if it were not to amount to a breach of the right to freedom of expression under article 10 of the Convention (and, potentially, a breach also of articles 8 and 11). It is, however, premature to rule on that now. Neither party has sought a ruling as to whether Wikipedia is a Category 1 service. Both parties say that decision must, for the moment, be left to Ofcom. If Ofcom decides that Wikipedia is not a Category 1 service, then no further issue will arise.
basically he said wikipedia could potentially raise a complaint if ofcom officially classified wikipedia as a category 1 service. pic from ofcom.

summary of wikipedia's challenge on page 2.
>... the claimants say that the decision to make the regulation was flawed on the grounds that:
>(1) the Secretary of State failed to comply with a duty imposed by paragraph 1(5) of schedule 11 to the Online Safety Act 2023 to take into account the likely impact of the number of users of the user-to-user part of a service, and its functionalities, on the ease, speed and breadth of the dissemination of user-generated content.
>(2) the decision was irrational because it was based on flawed reasoning.
>(3) the decision is incompatible with articles 8, 10 and 11 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
>(4) the decision is incompatible with article 14 of the Convention (or is otherwise irrational) because it fails to distinguish between different types of online provider.
page 6.
>18. It follows that any decision by a public authority (including a decision to make (or not to amend) secondary legislation) that has a significant impact on Wikipedia’s ability to operate would, in the absence of justification, likely be unlawful as being contrary to section 6 of the Human Rights Act 1998 read with article 10 of the Convention.

>I thought one of the points of Brexit was to unshackle Albion from these sorts of Continental ideas getting rammed down Britons' throats.
well i don't know much about all of this stuff and you might know more than me but the european convention on human rights was introduced by the council of europe. the uk voted to leave the european union but they're still part of the council of europe. i guess they disliked the eu stuff more than the coe stuff? idk but i'm at character limit.

Neat little rabbit hole, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Things of importance:
1. Original Post was posted on Ender on 03-20-25 uncensored with the actual link of the website. This was deleted one day later on the website, and the video was uploaded to a website known as Dread with a censored link to the website.
2. This was later re-reported on in April 15th 2025 on Ender, to which the admin seemed shaky about
3. On May 10th 2025 it was reported on in eighter, which then found its way to Goy TV, and other /pol/ affiliates, and where most of the investigation into this is happening under "Guys, epstein, trump, rich elite fucking children" this has been distributed to various /pol/ locations across chan likes.
4. On July 25th 2025, user in the either main hub thread "collected a digital fingerprint of what is assumed to the leader/admin of the website"
5. On August 11 2025 it showed up over on 4chan /pol/, of which found its way over here on /bant/ on August 11 2025, where it was brought to my attention on August 13 2025.

So in the period of near 5 months, a question has to be asked "Did anyone, from Ender to Eighter, to various /pol/ alt chans, to /pol/ 4chan to /bant/ actually report these findings to the FBI yet?"

If so, that's cool. Time to watch another corner fall just like with that other darkweb site that revolved around this sort of thing. If not, cool. I'll send it over so we can get the ball rolling on watching this sort of thing fall just like with that other darkweb site that revolved around this sort of thing.

Typically, I don't like interchan operations, because it is usually some sort of Discord/Telegram/Myspace Group gayops; but this one I'm just gonna shrug off because fuck it. Don't care if they are rich or poor, if they are politicians or citizens, don't care if they are ironic zoomers or out of touch boomers; using the internet for CSAM solicitation and proliferation is cringe and gay, so fuck it we ball

There were a few threads about this on /pol/ over the past two days, and some anons were pointing out that the whole thing might be a hoax. Here's a summary of what was said:
- People are pointing to a GPG fingerprint on Ubuntu that belongs to the admin as evidence that it's real, but anyone can create and upload those, so it doesn't necessarily mean that the forum is real, just that the fingerprint is real.
- The forum claims to be invite only. However, the thread view counts seen in the video are very high and more indicative of a clearnet public forum rather than a private, members-only one.
- It has supposedly been around since 2013 and has millions of posts, but somehow it has never been shut down, while many other smaller sites have been shut down during that time.
- In the video, the contents of only one thread are shown, and the posts look very suspiciously like they were written by AI. The only other parts that are shown are the thread titles and the forum index.
- The thread titles and usernames look very forced and not organic, like someone created them to push a political agenda that certain types of people are pedophiles.
- The other browser tabs shown in the video look carefully chosen as well.
- The formatting of the thread titles is often very similar from thread to thread, but the thread starters are supposedly different people.
- The last reply of each thread is a different person every time, while realistically, you should see the same person bumping several threads in a row. There are also no threads shown with 0 replies.
Based on that, I agree that it looks like an elaborate false flag. Is it worth reporting to the FBI and investigating? Absolutely. Are they going to find anything? Probably not. However, the most concerning part is that whoever created this hoax seems to be extremely familiar with the real shit.

Flooder has been overtly protected in recent threads especially with information brought up regarding a spamming/trolling cabal for Final Fantasy XIV on Twitter, standing a high chance of being deleted or the poster banned while the thread flooder goes free

I don't think it would make the entirety of South Park illegal, but I'd bet certain episodes would be, at least technically-speaking.

In case you're wondering, "obscene" has a very specific meaning in the legal world. It refers exclusively to porn. And how does one tell the difference between porn and art, seeing as many famous works of art, especially sculptures, feature naked people? Nobody really knows. A Supreme Court Justice once famously stated that he knew it when he saw it, and that is probably the most realistic, though not the most satisfying, answer.

This also defacto bans almost all ecchi anime. High school dxd and Gurren Lagann have "minors" sexualized, even though they have giant balloon tits.

Also it says "depiction that appears." OK how do you define that? This policy is a 3,000 year old dragon. That X year old girl was actually counting her age in a base 18 number system.

This is the groundwork for Australian style porn bans, where adult women with flat chests were banned for "stimulating pedophile" or something.

>its so over for us
if i may we're so back i will say the bar for quality posts is extraordinarily low especially today. i'll give some examples.
>sharing primary sources
most boards contain x formerly twitter screencap threads and often those screencaps themselves are references to some article. yet it's common for me to see those threads without a link to the original article. providing anons with the primary source provides them with higher quality information raising the quality of the board. look i know not everyone will click the actual source and even the ones that click won't read the whole thing or misunderstand it but still you're giving them the option. and probably there'll be at least one anon that clicks it and cites some stuff from it and then lazy anons can reply to the non-lazy guy. and remember the non-lazy guy citing the article is citing the article because you were also a non-lazy guy providing the primary source. so that's one example.
>effortposting
you don't have to be a superexpert on the topic or have not widely known info to effortpost. you just need to put in a little effort in your post. one example of that is what i did earlier in this thread. i just provided links to the primary sources and cited stuff i thought was relevant and summarized it in my own words. similarly other anons go looking for stuff in the archives and share their findings here. a humorous example in recent times is the story of the easy on the carrots guy.
>>23049094
>>23049176
this is a meme everyone is familiar with and the guy spent like 10 minutes looking through the archive to find the exact posts and share the history with us. see this is also a great example that effortposting doesn't have to mean a gigantic wall of text. it's about the effort you put into creating the post.
now i'm not saying you have to spend 10 minutes on every post you submit to 4chan. but when you choose to do it it raises the quality of a thread and also the site.

A fine can get Hiro arrested if he ever visits the UK or a UK extradition territory ie canada
I'd be surprised if he's willing to fight thing in court, even if he wins it. He strikes me as someone who would just block all UK IPs and be done with it.
He could also ignore everything, eat the arrest risk and let Ofcom request the UK courts to force ISPs to ban 4chan.

>has /co/ always been filled with fragile Xitter children?
/co/ used to be even more fragile in the early 10s. There's a subset of /co/ that used the site as twitter+ and would even nickname regular posters they didn't like. I wouldn't go as far as to say they were discord cabaling but groups wokescolding threads and ganging up on non-PC creators who offended twitter (ie: fellow argie hellonearthIII) was extremely common

Most of that is gone now that /co/ media imploded and the board became irrelevant but there's always a spark here and there.

With that said, >>23115667 is unrelated. Fixed is really out of leftfield. People were high on hopium that Genndy didn't make a 2D sausage party and it isn't the case. The Genndy hatefandom won.
