>Most people who I see praise this movie seem to not be interested in comic books.
Isn't that good? Means that people who don't read Superman or were poisoned by the Snyder/Bendis/Taylor era of Edgyman will get to enjoy a Superman who is ACTUALLY A HERO.
>They take it for what it is
A kind, humane alien who tries his best to make this world a lil bit better, and who isnn't afraid to realize he can fuck up on the stuff he does, but still he keeps trying because he knows that if he gives up, everyone's life gets shittier? So like, an actual person?
>and as someone who actually likes Superman the whole thing felt more like a parody of everything I like about him. I was sat in the theatre and felt like I was being mocked.
No, anon, you are NOT someone who likes Superman, you are someone who thinks Superman has to be an infallible god, someone who can't do no wrong or even doubt himself, when all of his best material is exactly stuff where his human side actually shines, where he actually shows why he's the symbol of HOPE in the DC Universe.
And also, the fact you feel mocked by a movie sure shows more the way you feel insecure about your hobby. Maybe you should have actual friends and not anons on the internet to have fun with when talking about your interests? Just a suggestion.
