I worked the same job for over a decade and recently lost it and have to get a new one. I got hired, then got filtered by all the fucking pre-employment hoops you have to jump through now. They literally said I have the job then I had to do a dozen pre-employment questionnaires and forms and kept having technical issues on their websites that wouldn't let me submit any forms and kept giving me errors like "this field is required, you must fill out this field before submitting" despite that field being entirely filled out. A week of technical issues with their bullshit HR website, background checks where they called all my employers from over 15 years ago making sure my timelines match up, constantly needing to get more forms I never fucking heard of before, and they eventually let me go and rescinded the job offer. I don't even know what went wrong, I think one of my jobs from 15 years ago on my resume was under the table work or something so it didn't match the background check they ran and that was the last straw for them. I'm so pissed, they won't even let me work when I try. All I know is how to work on the tools and I'm getting filtered out of jobs because of beaurocracy and I suck at keeping paperwork straight, how are guys like me even supposed to live anymore I can't make it past the gay HR hiring process hurdle despite being amazing on the tools

>the idea if a drug test never even crossed my mind because 1 it's legal in my country and 2 I've never heard of anyone getting drug tested for jobs in my country outside of very specific jobs like pilots
>AFTER I accept the job and they shake my hand and say you're hired they say "oh by the way you have to pass a drug test. We have zero tolerance for weed"
>keep a perfect poker face and don't react other than saying sure that won't be a problem
It's over for me. I was so close to making it out but once again it's over.
