Its a non nosense build, the case is spartan but very well reviewed, 2TB hard drive, you might switch it for a 1TB if you think its enough. Might need to purchase a couple extra fans for the case.

That build is missing a gpu, for my money i would pick up a 5070TI (800-900) but out of the 3 sensible choices for your needs its the higher tier one, you can also consider a 5070 (500-600) a 5060TI (400-500) or an 9070xt from AMD (600-700).
The 5060TI should probably trade punches with your 3080 while also having access to newer tech (newer dsll, frame gen) the 5070 5070TI just improve in performance. The 9070xt is comparable to the 5070TI in computing power but from amd with the boons and flaws that come with being amd.

I think thats something you should decide based on your budget and needs but the rest of the build i gave you is simply solid.

Have i7 6700k with 16gb 3000 cl16 ram. Want to upgrade it for vidya only for my TV/simrig. The 6700k is below minimum requirements for some games.

If you stick with am4 understand thats as far as it go, you will not be upgrading that again but changing the whole pc next time, so at some point you will have to move to am5 and frankly buying dead platform tech always stings.
The advantages of switching the setup is a faster processor (probably not the most important part), much much faster ram (and twice of it) and having an easier time to upgrade the next time just switching cpus.

I can get 7600x for 140 or 7800x3d for 300 from microcenter. Problem is the 200 motherboard for am5. I need the MSI am5 itx because of my case. The axp90x47 couldn't screw into the ASRock itx mobo because of the backplate lip and if I use the longer screws the case won't close. Sff problems

Anon, I've been checking out B850 mobos, and if you are interested in those ones, you should pick either the Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite, MSI Tomahawk Max, or the ASUS TUF Gaming B850-Plus. Here in Burgerland, the price difference between these boards starts at $199 for Gigabyte -> $209 MSI -> $219 ASUS, and all three are fine with minimal specific-use case differences that justify the price differences, but I don't know how these prices translate for you. The MSI one has a whopping 3 10gbps USB-C ports in the back panel, the ASUS one has 1 20gbps USB-C port, and the Gigabye one has 1 10gbps USB-C port. Plenty of USB-As and headers.

MSI has a 5gbps LAN, others are 2.5gbps but beware the MSI one has been reported to be a bit iffy.

All the other differences (in NVMe slots or whatever) are probably of no difference to you, so take a close look at these three, consider price, and decide what's best.

You should elaborate. do you need more than 1 USB-C on the rear panel? You will have more than enough regular USB on pretty much any b850 and certainly x870. Don't forget about case ports too (What case do you have?). Do you need ports with over 10gbps speeds? LAN 2.5G OR 5G? At this tier, you get WIFI7 as well.

Yeah I see it, it's not surprising since the MSI of those three boards has *three* USB-C ports AND a 5G LAN (the other two have one on rear only and are at 2.5G). Internally, all three are use-wise identical unless you plan to spam NVMes (don't). Tomahawk also supports one front header up to 20gbps USB-C. ASUS and gigabyte will also get you one front USB-C.

Also, it goes without saying that you should avoid Asrock. Only consider ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI (although MSI is a bit expensive there).

For me, it being more recent and therefore having better longevity is mainly the reason why I'm going with the 9800X3D (also better thermals from what I've seen). picrel is what I will buy this year. I am not planning to buy my gpu (9070xt) now as I don't play games that much rn (only tf2 really) so the igpu is sufficient right now. Delaying the purchase gives me a bit more headroom to really get better other parts as well.

It's not commensurate with the premium it carries over the 7800X3D since prices came back down from the spring, and especially with discounted/tray 7800X3Ds on sale between now and Black Friday.

If you make a slight error in connecting the cable, all the current can go through just a few of the pins and exceed their limits, and there's no built in protections for that (some cards have some protections for it but they are quite minimal). It probably wouldn't effect 9070xts as much as 4090s or 5090s because they use much less power but there's still not much reason to get a 12vhpwr card instead of one with regular connectors.

My 9070 pulse barely sees any benefit just going from 220W to 242W. Benchmark scores go up, sure, but game performance is more or less the same or worse.

Extra 10% power limit isn't much, but 50% is quite a lot.
Still for 50% higher power draw you will maybe gain 15% more performance.
Kinda risky because you don't have a backup if anything goes sideways.

I'm able to go out to 269W on the stock bios since I'm on Linux but anything past 242W falls off a cliff in performance. Not going to risk a flash since it's not dual bios.

was the 5700XT a flagship on its release? i've been having issues of random black screens where the sound cuts out and no signal in the middle of playing FFXIV capped at 60FPS

Since January, it's pretty good, everything werks, but as usual, for Bluetooth YMMV per device. Be sure to never lose the USB dongle, too. There's a neat little part under the mouse for you to store the dongle in it, but you can take it and the lid off to save a bit of weight on the mouse. The battery will last you for a few days, and cable is also an option obviously. Id say I have medium-large hands and it fits my hand nicely but be sure to watch reviews and chcek images to get a reference for your own hands.

the software werks on windows, but for me on Linux the (open source 3rd party) drivers were a mess so I just set the mouse DPI to one option since no UI. But it also werks there otherwise.

There is a bit of scratch on the rubber on the right side, but this mouse travels with me a lot, so I'm not too surprised. No damage anywhere else. The rubber is nice and the mouse doesn't feel "weird" or "cheap" to me. Overall I would recommend it, but of course make sure its the right one for you first

bros i have an aorus 9070xt and i need to decide which case should i buy , the gpu clearance is enough for all three cases and all of em have sufficient airflow can you anons suggest me which one i should go for (prices are basically same the only difference is fan quality at this point)
