Gemini 2.5 Pro with that preset vs deepseek with my own (slightly modified ash-chatseek).
Both are slop, but one uses a lot more words. IMO while deepseek is clueless, it's at least sharper than gemini and keeps up with the card's instructions. And I used gemini heavily in the past.

Echoing this sentiment. I switched back to Deepseek when Gemini was having all its problems, but the general quality of the writing is a notable step down from Gemini. Gemini pro has been working for me so far, and is the best model I'm aware of for ponies.

I don't know if anyone else is having these issues, but every time I head on up to Canterlot for a second visit to Celestia, the background doesn't load. Alone or with Twilight.
Additionally, the exit dialogue for visiting Celestia alone is the same for if I visited with Twilight, resulting in a phantom student. Spooky.

but the summarization is per message or per X number of messages, which isn't very effective

And the summary requests are sent directly without the preset which will break on some models, there's no quality control unless you manually check the summaries

i'm working on a fork of the extension, trying to add the following functionality:
auto-detect the end of a 'scene' (logical break point in the story) and summarize the entire scene.
auto-hide the messages within that scene so they're removed from context, just the summary remaining
have a second LLM check the summary for quality control

later i'm hoping to integrate with automatically parsing out details that should go into a temporary lorebook for the specific chat, but that's very ambitious and i'm not sure how feasible with the current limitations on extensions

response: he wanders ponyville, passing Twilight who is doing x,y,z problem: this portrayal of Twilight is completely out of characater for our version. her lorebook wasn't active when the AI made it's response, because the user hadn't mentioned her

speculated solution:
have the AI response go to a local proxy, parse it for any lorebooks it would trigger, and if they're not currently active, regenerate the response with those for context, before passing it back to SillyTavern

Harmonizer has some headcanons inside, like Cadance not being an alicorn and Shining being a Duke instead.
If you like the changes, it can be worth using, or you can modify it a bit to fit your own headcanon.
Depending on the model you use, and if you don’t have headcanons, you can also simply choose not to use Lorebooks for FiM.
Most big models already know a lot of G4, so depending on what’s inside, a Lorebook can just bloat your context with things the model already knows.

What I meant is that if you played a lot, it could be big and maybe cause issues.
No need to download the game again, just for testing, you can start a new game and see if the conversation with Twilight works without problems. Or launch a Quick Start.
If it does, then it's indeed that your context is too big. Try making a summary of your current save if that's the case.

Hey, anyone else tried the opus6 chatgpt-4o-latest? I don't know why but for me it is ignoring my first message and then responding to it on its second reply, then ignoring the subsequent message and responding to it on the third reply and so on. For example:

Me:"blablabla"
Bot:Something that still makes sense for the character and scene, yet ignoring my input.
Me:"Something else"
Bot:Response to "blablabla"

Managed to get enough to make character cards for Night Guard and Nightmare Moon Guards. I also did Unicorn Royal Guard and the Pegasus Royal Guard. MIGHT do Crystal Guard. Either way, I'm waiting till VN updates so I can update the Nightmare AU, or I finish the lot. Whichever comes first.

It's still experimental and the AI is handling a lot, so sometimes it messes up sprites exiting the scene, etc.
Overall, I tested with Claude and Gemini and both handled it well.

>Manual and Dynamic Characters and Locations Switching
In the API config menu, you'll now see two new options for managing Locations and Characters:

- Off: Works like older versions. Characters and locations are static.
- Manual: You control who enters, who exits, and when backgrounds or music change. The AI can't screw it up, and it uses fewer tokens since nothing is sent for dynamic switching. Great for smaller models, though less immersive.

- Dynamic: Works like Dashie mod, where the AI introduces new characters and changes locations depending on prompts, instructions, or dialogue. More immersive, but uses more tokens and depends on the model. Gemini 2.5 Pro is very proactive, Claude is more timid.
This only works in sandbox mode, and both options are off by default—switch to what you prefer.

>Custom Locations
You can now add new locations to the game in game\CustomLocations.
Two types:
- Simple locations: Don't appear on the Ponyville map but can be used for manual or dynamic switching (e.g., bedrooms, Ponyville lake).
- Map locations: Appear on the map, can be added to character schedules, and can be clicked to bring ponies there.
For simple ones, you only need a background and a tiny JSON file with a name. See the Mane Six bedrooms or the lake for examples. The folder name is the ID, so follow existing conventions. If you add music it plays; if not, the previous location's music continues.
For map locations, same idea but you also need position data in the JSON. Check the tea_shop folder for an example.

I won't add it directly to the website for now, because I still need to update the docs first (not done yet). And maybe add some bug fixes if there are major errors.

Tried it out for a moment. Configured the location and character controls to manual, went to a brand new quick start with a persona (if you interact with the export/import coming from the main menu, it jumps you right into "Start" which was annoying) and then went to explore.
Was in Fluttershy's cottage with only Roseluck to start with, then added Fluttershy and applied the changes. Not only shy was being managed by the "Narrator", her sprite didn't appear. The console showed that every request to the model it was asking for a correction. Looking at the logs, Roseluck is the only one appearing in the list of characters, no shy in sight.
By the end it started tagging her correctly, but I manually edited it to use the correct tag.

Manual mode seems to work pretty well, but I'm running into problems with dynamic mode. Specifically, the AI is being allowed to use narrator text to announce character entry, exit, or scene transitions, like (x joined the conversation), (y left the conversation), and (the scene transitions to z). The AI basically always does this unless it's told enough times that it shouldn't. At best, it's immersion-breaking, and at worst, the AI doesn't have the characters properly enter at all, causing (Unexpected format: x) when x tries to speak. Dashie had checks in the validation to prevent these narration messages, and I see those are missing here.

I also noticed that the system prompt isn't being rebuilt when characters join or leave. Characters added by the AI after the initial scene generation never have their sprites sent to the AI, which makes them very limited in the expressions they can use. The AI just guesses what sprites a character might have. For example, if I start a chat with AJ and then have Dash join later, the AI will see that AJ has a "playful" sprite and might try to call "dash playful," but she doesn't have that, so her sprite just stays the same. This was a problem I had with the last public release of Dashie as well. I fixed it on my own copy and I could share it with you if you'd like, but essentially I just made a list of active characters. When a character enters, they're added to the list, and when they leave, they're removed. Each time the user sends a conversation message, the system prompt is rebuilt to include all current characters in the list so the AI has all relevant sprite information.

I'm not talking about the narrator describing the character walking over or anything like that. That's perfectly fine. I'm talking about the narrator specifically doing this: narrator "(Twilight Sparkle joins the conversation)." It says this almost every time I have a character join the conversation in dynamic mode. Sometimes it will still do [character_enter: twi] immediately after so her sprite still appears, but other times it doesn't, which causes her to not actually enter the conversation and results in an (unexpected format: twi).

Yeah, during dialogue. It lets you go from morning to afternoon and allows you to continuously go from morning > afternoon > sleepover and repeat without ever exiting to the map. I'm probably the only autist that cares about it, but it helps my immersion a ton, and was one of the main reasons why I made the mod in the first place. You don't have to worry about it right now, but I'd love to see it back in a later version down the road.

I did it for her. I know you've got a lot you're working on, but if you're interested in another small idea, there's one more improvement that I made to the validation in my private copy that I can recommend. See pic rel. Essentially, when the AI speaks for the player, the game will send out a regeneration message rather than a correction message. It doesn't provide the AI with the incorrect output because usually, when the game speaks for the player, it tries to progress the plot too much. It's basically uncorrectable. In an attempt to correct it, the AI will usually use the narrator to describe the player's body language, or it will just have characters respond to things you didn't even say. It's much better to just tell the AI that it spoke for the player and that it needs to completely try again from scratch.

Another where I've been the unwilling test subject of Twilight; I've accidentally achieved immortality by utilizing a failsafe that used the public's conscious memories of my character as a 'backup' instance that can be recalled by a spell matrix, only late realizing this applied to not only to the memory of the Alicorns, but also of the Spirits of both Chaos and Harmony; Been stalked (and raped) by some of the Mane 6 characters; Been unwillingly turned into a colt; Have fallen into poison joke and became illiterate as an Artificer; Accidentally became the Champion of Discord; Started ascending into Alicornhood but used magic to deny the ascension and ended up pissing off Harmony; And many, MANY more.

I think the common denominator of causality at this point is just me. I'm weird and strange, so the story naturally devolves to reflect that. I think the most common unusual encounter that sneaks its way into each story is at least one instance of size play. Don't know why, but it always shows up.

I like to have Grok on OR write pony fics. It's pretty good at keeping them in character. I am using a simple system prompt to get around the filters. It worked for awhile, but now it sometimes ignores the system prompt or refuses to answer. I can edit around it, but I just wanted to blogpost.
