It's very fun, you spar without any protective equipment or gloves but sadly there are no punches to the head so it isn't very useful. How hardcore it is will depend on the coach, my coach was all about taking damage to deal damage. Kyokushin isn't a very bouncy or flashy martial art, it's all about who can take the most pain which is why they immediately rush to close range and start beating the shit out of eachother until one of them collapses. Blocking and dodging in competitions is seen as dishonorable lmao. Give it a try if you can, I'd still suggest doing muay thai over it(kudo is even better if you can find it) as muay thai has less dumb rules.
