Everything that happened was a story written by Christofo with an alternate version. If you followed everything exactly as he has written, Septimont will be engulfed in Dark Tide.

>1st story
Carte and Lupa's dark story was not in the past, but an alternate story by Christofo. Lupa almost died in that story, but Carte forced her out of that story and asked her to meet Rover in the next story, since all stories intertwine with each other./spoiler]

Besides Carte, Mya is also a Threnodian creation. After Fleur was defeated, this fraction of Threnodian resurged inside Mya and was used by Christofo as an "amplifier" to engulf Septimont in his narrative and bring Threnodian power back by sucking Imperator Central Hub's power. But Rover thwarted this plan and sent Lupa into reality using the script from Frog.

Lupa awakens from the story with her memories of what happened in all the stories. She went to the underwater part of the city to find Mya's remains and learn what Fractidus plans for Septimont. Yada yada, she defeated the remains of Threnodians. Rover and Carte got out of the story, and 3 of them reunited at the end.
