There's a difference between a bit of off-hand banter and the kind of characterization they got in TCW, which was way over the top and defeated the whole idea that the clones will eventually become the stormtroopers (who also had the occasional bit of off-hand banter in the original trilogy but were still unthinking fanatics who would obey any order, no matter how stupid or immoral, without question).
There's a difference between a bit of off-hand banter and the kind of characterization they got in TCW, which was way over the top and defeated the whole idea that the clones will eventually become the stormtroopers (who also had the occasional bit of off-hand banter in the original trilogy but were still unthinking fanatics who would obey any order, no matter how stupid or immoral, without question).

The only two people (in the films) who know about what Anakin did to the sandpeople

The Jedi Council were completely unaware of Anakin's escapades on Tatooine and the consequences of them finding out about it would have been orders of magnitude worse than if Obi-Wan had literally walked in on Anakin cockslamming a heavily pregnant Padme and found his marriage certificate in a drawer.

Imagine if Nazi Germany had survived WWII and the SS had cemented itself as a permanent institution and eventually supplanted the Wehrmacht as the primary military force of the country in addition to controlling a significant chunk of the economy via a shadowy business empire worth billions of dollars.
