Modern gaming corporations are censoring harder than any point during the 90s, and they're doing it entirely of their own volition. No one even cares about the ESRB or PEGI or whatever any more, especially when it comes to Japanese games. Fuck it, I'll take the government intervening, I doubt it could be worse than what we have now. Anything to tie these fuckers' hands, because they only ever use them to do bad things now. The "let the game industry self-regulate" thing was a failure, time to shove the boot up their asses, they've proven they don't deserve the responsibility.

Just because there haven't been any major recent examples doesn't mean it isn't still happening. Eventually you'll just see these games stop being made altogether and the companies behind them fold. Japanese culture is getting bulldozed by (((western))) capital.

Even fucking Neptunia can't get a global release any more and Tokyo Clanpool's Ether Induction (touching minigame) was censored out of it's Asia-only release and a couple CGs were censored as well. The latter even in its censored form was hard-banned by Steam. This is what you can expect any new Senran Kagura game to face on release. There is simply no legislation in place to stop these companies from doing things like this and that's why they get away with it.
