You can try a blender tutorial and see. It scales with the amount of detail. There's a crazy amount of detail. Like this little jig Jinx is doing has so many moving parts. They use key frame animation not mocap, so some guy had to animate every little twitch of her body.

Yes, cel animation had the expense of having to draw every frame. But at the same time it's not as insane as drawing a million images, because 90% of it was sketching the background and so on. Computer graphics creates a model of the world, but actually doing anything in it like moving or flowing or crying requires an insane amount of work.

Makima syndrome. Arcane (like CSM) was carried by a character so iconic and magical that it drives the entire show. When the makers lose sight of that, in every other aspect it looks like the same show, but all the magic is gone. In S2 they really flopped on Jinx (although she had some good parts). And everything depends on jinx
