I've lost all enthusiasm for anything Disney but I just rewatched Aladdin the other day and it's a fucking great movie. It's an infantilized version of a old story dressed up with musical numbers and anachronisms to keep the plebs engaged but damned if there isn't still artistry at the root of it ll. The people who animated those movies were craftsmen with legit skills. I mean, it just looked *good.* They couldn't do it again now if they tried

The 3D0 thread from the other day reminded me how mad I am that they took the first Jurassic Park game that actually had the capacity to play clips from the movie and made a completely forgettable nothingburger minigame collection out of it. Literally every iteration of Jurassic Park on every other console, janky though they may have been, at least understood the assignment.

If Jurassic Park 3DO is just the Genesis game but with better graphics / sound and a taste of movie footage between levels everyone goes apeshit for it, especially if it was the launch title as originally intended. What a wasted opportunity
