We don't know to what end Kris is helping though. They seem to have some kind of promise that's making them so complacent in the plot, even to the point it stops them from going after Susie at the end of Chapter 4.
It could simply be that the outcome of this plan is better for their family or Dess/Noelle than anything else that could matter to them.

The idea that Kris is "potentially enjoying it" is thrown out the window when we see how they're yelling for their friends in the Spamton fight, how they ran to Noelle's to remove the Thorn Ring without us knowing, how they bolt if we mess up trying to repossess them in Noelle's room, how they beat our ass afterwards, etc.
Kris likes violent things. Kris does not like what we're doing in Weird Route at all. ERAM's words are provocation, not fact. There's a truth in them that Kris likes violent stuff, but them implying Kris enjoyed any part of Weird Route is stepping more into Flowey-like "YOU'RE A TWISTED FUCK LIKE ME, AREN'T YOU" type stuff.

Incredibly brave and stunning of Toby Fox to write a videogame where the moral lesson is "Murdering troubled teenagers is morally correct because they're a burden to everyone around them".

Between this and the theory that Kris tried to put distance with Noelle because they're scared of her and her psycho tendencies, it'd be kinda kino if all along Kris has just been scared af of a pair of sadistic psycho sisters that could very well kill someone.

This whole thing is a theory about a twist reveal. There's no "proof" of anything at the moment and probably won't be unless we see Kris whip out the Real Knife and do a similar attack in Chapters 5 or 6.

They do at least hide physical things from us. They literally hide the knife from us the whole time never letting it show up in our inventory. And in the Weird Route Spamton fight, we find out Kris has a special move of their own they never whip out anywhere else, X-Slash. Presumably they only have it there because they're either so scared they're letting us use some of their stronger shit, or we're just getting a better hold of them and can access more of their abilities.

I think the Shadow Crystals actually show us the intended path of the Prophecy.
>* You thought you saw the lobby of the church.
>* You thought you saw toys strewn on the floor.
>* You thought you saw the computer lab.
These ones were all just the area itself, so it seems to be just the Light World. But then
>* You thought you saw the television get smashed to pieces.
This one is specifically the timeline where Tenna is fully smashed instead of just cut and repaired.
And in the Church, you can also get:
>* For some strange reason, no matter how you look...
>* The prophecy's text does not warp in the crystal's lens.
>* You shook the crystal...
>* However, nothing changed.
It doesn't warp because even in the Shadow Crystals the prophecy is absolute.
Also the unused line:
>* You thought you saw Undyne frozen in ice.
Could imply in the intended path, Undyne got frozen then and there, possibly by Noelle.

Then, in the light we get.
>* You thought you saw through your hand.
Kris isn't supposed to be there, the Vessel is.
>* You thought you saw Susie glaring at you, coldly...
>* But when you moved the glass away,
>* You see her looking at you, smiling and making a rude gesture.
Susie was supposed to stay a bully.
>* You thought you saw Noelle close against you, whispering.
>* You put the glass to your ear...
>* ... of course, that didn't do anything...
Noelle was supposed to be with (you).
