Perhaps if you act nicely you will get the best version of the one ending the game will have. To repeat the Undertale Neutral example, the ending is the same, but if you spare everyone, the Underground is in the best possible state you could leave it in in that specific route. Of course, something tragic and unavoidable might still happen(Asgore dying, the barrier not getting destroyed and the monsters still stuck underground), but it doesn't have to be a complete tragedy. Something very similar could happen in Deltarune. I do not think Ralsei is lying or betraying anyone, atleast not after chapter 4.
