I finally defeated the Knight without the Mantle. I was able to beat it in one try with it on, so I figured: "Eh, can't be that bad..." A few hours of grinding later and bam. Burned through all my items, but the whole team with still standing.

I've wondered something.

Do we know how long Kris has had this situation with his Soul? The birdcage implies Kris has been removing his soul and keeping it locked long before we entered the scene. Is it possible Kris has spent his whole life in this situation where his soul has been acting out shit against his will. And it used to get up to shit like shaking the Ferris Wheel seat?

This would explain why Kris is so hostile to us even in the normal route. He's used to his soul being a total shit and he doesn't actually know we've taken over at one point.

Replaying the Weird Route from Chapter 2 got me thinking.

Schizo theory time:

The game is trying to replace Ralsei as the main healer. Susie's heal is gradually becoming better than Ralsei's. Which would leave Ralsei open to doing something else with his magic. But what is that something else?

I was playing Snowgrave last night to catch up on all the shit I missed, and I noticed that none of the enemies were specifically killed, just frozen.

If the Knight is Dess theory is real or Carol turns out to have an active role in it, then Noelle isn't the only one that can freeze darkners or even lightners. Which means eventually Ralsei may get the ability to thaw them with fire magic. It even matches the prophecy's portrayal of the Dark Prince's magic being flame.

This could also be an escape route for the Weird Route. You get to go back and thaw the people Noelle froze. Or maybe just Berdley.
