The relationship of Kris and Susie in the normal route is much closer to the beginnings of actual romance. Kris's relationship with Noelle is that of "star-crossed lovers" and is more complex than you give credit for. The Weird Route is not about romance but about domination. If you pick the actual romantic options while with Noelle you get locked out of that route.
