Sonic stories were never good and were always carried by muh themes, cheap hype moments and character designs. The characters were never consistent and different writers would do whatever they wanted to them. They are at most incoherent and at worst genuinely abysmal in quality. In fact this can be said about video game stories in general. Go read some actual literature or engage with any other fictional narrative

The sooner you accept that this has always been and always will be the natural state of humans, instead of thinking of it as some horrible abnormality, the better it will be for your mental health. And you can additionally cope with it by remembering these facts:

One of those implosions was WW2, White people had been fooling themselves with liberalism, Christianity and social activism we're all equal and the universe warned everybody through Adolf Hitler and Heinrich Himmler who was the one to destroy the illusion of Christianity. War in Ukraine and mass migration are punishments from the Universe towards White people not uniting and not being what they were meant to.
