If you're wealthy enough to be able to post on 4chan, you're wealthy enough to start growing comestible plants. If you pick the right plants, you can get huge harvests every year even in tiny spaces.
>My soil is crap!
You can improve the soil and plant things that don't mind poor soil
>I don't get much sun!
Some plants prefer the shade
>I'm lazy
Plant perennials. You do it once and you're good.
>It's hot/cold here!
SOMETHING grows there. Find out what hardiness zone you're in and search based off that. If necessary, you can grow indoors.
>I can buy food at the store!
Fruits and vegetables you find at the store have half the nutrients they did a few decades ago because the cultivars they are selecting for their breeding programs are the ones that give the longest shelf life. That's all they care about. Your store bought tomatoes are hybridized with a variety that doesn't ripen at all just to make your tomatoes last a couple weeks longer.

The best time to go put some plants in the ground to start your WWIII survival food forest is early in the morning when the Sun is just starting to peek over the horizon. The air is nice and cool, the ground just slightly damp from the morning dew. The satisfying, earthy smells as you work the soil fill your nose and you share a nice quiet moment with all the bees as they happily pollinate your plants.

Perennial plants are the lowest effort thing to grow. You plant them once and then it's just basic maintenance, unlike annuals where you have to do the same shit every year.
You plant one little raspberry in your yard and before you know it you have a living hedge that produces delicious fruit.

Long term survivability during famine is very poor if you don't grow your own food or know people who do and are on very good terms with them.
Investing 100 bucks on berry bushes now could save your life as food scarcity worsens during WWIII. Any calories you can supply for yourself are better than no calories.
Buy a plant, dig a hole, put it in and water it a few times. That's all I ask. It's as low maintenance as it gets. You just need to do it NOW.

People say good fences make for good neighbours.
What better fence than a raspberry hedge?
Mature perennial plants increase your property value, make you more likely to survive famines and it's wonderful for your morale. You get to see beautiful greener, flowers and then colourful fruit that taste amazing and nourish you far more than anything you'd get at Walmart or whatever.
You know it's important by the number of glowies who invade these threads to dissuade you from doing it.
