In classic autism dev style, literally nobody understands WHY the AI video is appealing.

It's not because of the low res retro graphics.
It's not because it looks like a medieval western fantasy fps.
It's not because it's got a big castle.

It's because it looks big. There aren't obvious boundaries. That castle in the distance? Maybe you can go there. Those houses might be fully modeled inside. What's behind? A deep, dark forest? It all invokes a sense of mystery and the allure of discovery.

It's not fucking rocket science. Bethesda figured this about hour 20 years ago. But it takes real effort to create expansive worlds full of little things to discover, and devs today can't hack it. I can look at those indie games and guess pretty quickly exactly what existing game they're emulating. 3 of them just look like doom clones. That invokes nothing in me but the desire to roll my eyes.

Maybe contrarian, but I'd say the nether.

It's not that the nether is bad per say, it just didn't "fit". Once the newness wore off, you realize there's really no reason to go there. It doesn't change the gameplay loop in any meaningful way. It's just more stuff.
Same problem with enchanting and levels- combat was already trivialized by diamond equipment, so 80% of the enchanting system was worthless for like, 3 years.
Villages- same shit. Literally did nothing for years.

The end result has been a sprawl of lame and shallow mechanics. Bloat.

I wish this was an actual issue where he raped her, snapped her neck, then beat Sonic to death while informing him he fucked Sally too.

I'll say it's a homage to Miracleman

>you come across a song you like from an artist you have never heard before

How do you proceed now? do you look for a "top songs" playlist? do you listen to the album that includes the song you liked? or something different?
