Modern liberal ethics has conditioned many to believe that colonization and expansion is inherently evil. This idea that we're taking something that "isn't ours" by settling Mars is sentimentality disguised as ethics. There's no life there, it's a barren toxic wasteland filled with carbon dioxide. Expansion, pioneering, and conquest are core parts of human history. What they're really objecting to is the idea of a human presence in general, because they hate humanity. You can rest easy, anon, knowing that this ideology will die on Earth and the explorers and pioneers in us will inherit the stars.
