The only egregious thing is the bloodstain tucked in the corner between the bed and the birdcage, which is probably just a few days old and she just hasn't noticed it waking Kris up in the morning.

The Chapter 4 egg room implies that Kris has compulsive episodes of washing their hands. It's not Kris going AWOL that's normal, it's Kris spending a lot of time at the sink. That's why Rudy makes a comment about "practicing for another hand-washing marathon?"

The Man is undeniably Gaster-like, even though he doesn't quite sound like the Gaster that we know
Being just another "Gaster follower" or goner doesn't explain the similarities, none of them talk like Gaster and aren't subjected to the same extreme "censorship" that prevents him from appearing and speaking normally
I think there's a strong case for him being (or formerly being) Deltarune's Gaster, but that doesn't explain his relationship to Kris, why he's taken interest in Kris, or how Kris encountered him in the first place.
Being "The Man Behind The Tree" and Kris's associating trees with secrets (also seen in the Mantle Game) makes a strong and obvious connection to the forest south of town and specifically The Shelter, but that doesn't quite line up with the common assumptions about Dess disappearing in the Shelter and Kris having gone with her or maybe trying to find her afterward. People have speculated from day 1 that The Shelter is some equivalent space to the True Lab and that Gaster might literally be down there, but that doesn't explain why Kris would see A Man Behind A Tree in the forest outside of The Shelter. And it's hard to imagine that Dess's disappearance and Kris's encounter with The Man were two separate incidents.
It's possible that The Tree wasn't really there, and that there was only A Man. That would seem to line up with Kris's experience with Art Therapy that we see in Chapter 4. They try to draw what they saw, and when the sketch was completed, they covered it up with A Tree (again, refer to the Mantle Game: trees covering secrets). Perhaps Kris and Dess did enter The Shelter, and there was A Man there, but only Kris came back, and there was not A Man there.
