I think the message is that not every "cute character bonding is valid". Toby does that with Suselle and SansxToriel.
Mindless shippers just see TorielxSans content while actual point behind it that it break Dreemur family apart and will most likely cause Asgore to do something stupid next chapter.
Same with Susell, its building it to point out what Chapter 2 LITERALLY spelled out in the mini game with Kris and Noelle explored the town - D-E-C-E-M-B-E-R. She's so traumatised and obsessed with her sister, she has December month on every page on her calendar. And she fucking made Susie LARP as December like some Norman Bates larping as own mother shit. Those two ships aren't suppose to be cute and vaid. Only Kruise is and that why Toby insert entire plotline about piano.
