Imo one of the main reason why FF doesn't have a solid fanbase is because the gameplay every game is always changing and always fucking weird. They should just stick to have a recognizable turn based gameplay instead of that weird shitty gameplay they have.

The 2008 Recession + 2009 Writers' Strike helped solidify their movement into what we're stuck with today, and it's part of the reason why they're slowly being replaced by generative AI as Hollywood wants to eventually start making money again due to the billions lost over globohomo slop.
