Mayano Top Gun Factoids
>How Uma Musume depicts Mayano Top Gun is very faithful to the personality of the real horse. The horse is quite moody, childish, and would refuse to do anything he absolutely doesn’t like.
>This unfortunately, contributed to his inconsistent performances in races.
>His groom and stable workers called him by the nickname “Gun-chan”.
>He had a late debut due to developing osteoid osteoma, and could only run on dirt at first because it was less stressful (that’s why she gets many free turns in her scenario before the first goal race, Kikka-Sho).
>Her habit of throwing kisses up towards her fans is something his jockey did IRL.
>Since Gun-Chan decides how to run a race by his mood, Tabara always improvised his tactic when jockeying Gun-Chan in a race.
>Gun-Chan had won races with all four different running styles. (Rare.)
>Nicknamed “Kaleidoscopic Ace” because of this.
>Gun-Chan loves to rub his head against grooms’ bodies. It is cute and annoying at the same time. He likes humans quite a bit.
>Not as big on other horses though.
>Gun-Chan hates mating a lot. Not because he hates the act of mating, but because he is very picky of his mating partners. He became a lot happier after retiring from stallion duty.
>Gun-Chan also hates vets. He would run away if he spotted a vet from afar, and it would take a lot of time for the grooms to catch him.
>He eats the things he likes first, leaves the things he doesn't like to the last.

Mayano Top Gun Factoids
>Named after the movie 'Top Gun'
>Notably during the recent press tour for Top Gun Maverick, Mayano's voice actress got to meet Tom Cruise due to this. Irrelevant, but funny.
>His groom and stable workers called him by the nickname “Gun-chan”.
>The horse is quite moody, childish, and would refuse to do anything he absolutely doesn’t like. Including in races.

>Gun-Chan would often decide how to run based on mood alone, leaving their jockey to just have to put up with it.
>Gun-Chan had won races with all four different running styles. (This is very impressive.)
>They loved to rub their head against grooms’ bodies. Very affectionate in this regard, with humans at least.
>With horses though? Gun-Chan was picky. Often refusing to mate with mares that didn't match his 'standards', but overly-eager with those that did. Apparently became far less stressed when they gave up on trying to make him a competitive mate sire.
>Gun-Chan also hates vets. He would run away if he spotted a vet from afar, and it would take a lot of time for the grooms to catch him.

Star rating has absolutely nothing to do with their actual ability. Especially since you can just raise it. The rl Tachyon was a beast that, despite it's career being cut short early, ended up being a phantom shadow on it's generation since any honse doing well after-ward would get the 'Tachyon would've won though' treatment from the press. I'd recommend basically ignoring stars in lore terms, there's no correlation.
