necropost replying to soneone from 2am, but if toby does something like this, i would be completely and utterly fascinated. this is something that would begin to go into the realms of christian mysticism (ie the works of meister eckhart von hocheim - "...if you're frightened of dying you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth,") and also has truth etymologically/historically ("devil" and "divine" both sprout from the same root, "diva"; in many cultures, demons were just the gods that the people we fight with over there worship).
however, it would also go against a lot of what we can understand metaphysically/narratively about the real world, light world, and dark world - that being that light is synonymous with truth/realness (the brightest thing is the soul, which is YOU; truth is also synonymous with god in abrahamic tradition), and darkness is the removal of light so that you can begin to see things under a different lighting/perspective (fictionality - remove aspects of what is truth/real, you get a work of fiction, a lie that tells the truth a different way). the real world is the truest layer that interacts with deltarune, the light world is the second truest layer, and the dark world is the least true layer. beings from below cannot see that which is above without divine revelation (ie shadow crystals), and beings from above will always be capable more control over their existence and being more than beings from below. if the titans are spawned from darkest dark, and are also divine as (You) are divine, that would totally shatter this way of understanding this work (and fiction in general), which would be VERY, VERY INTERESTING

From Gaster's perspective, the player is also a horrific entity that exists beyond comprehension. Gaster is a teratophile
