You're never going to be completely original in any field but there's a world of difference between some accidental overlap and copying something wholesale. Trying to say it's hard to be unique is just being lazy.

>It isn't intimidating at all, that's all weird perception issues that people have built up. It is in part a (you) problem. And at a certain point people need to get over it.

I really don't understand when and how this got so out of control. I got into comics during the late 80s and I was very far removed from the "starting point" as well and I imagine a lot of my peers were exactly the same. We didn't have a jumping on point. We just got into comics with issue whatever hundred of ASM or X-men and we not only were able to follow it we became hardcore fans. Back issues weren't home work they were something else to discover and have fun with. But now it feels like nobody is even willing to just try to understand things unless they get a personal cultivated reading list.

>That makes up for a tiny percentage of the number of anime that come out every year, the rest of which is entirely original content.

Having nothing but a bunch of forgettable seasonal trash isn't a good thing. You are literally arguing in favor of trash that you won't give a shit about as soon as this argument is over. Good art should endure.

>He says it's because Dark Souls brings together a bunch of various design aspects that attract many types of gamers while also not putting a specific emphasis on any of them, allowing different types of gamers to find a niche within the game that they connect with.

I played all the souls games to completion, including bloodborne and I'm just not seeing this. I'm not an expert but I hardly half assed them. I tried multiple builds, I explored every corner, I beat all the bosses and I had fun, but every time someone goes on about this franchise they act like it's almost this euphoric moment of clarity and brilliance or some shit. It's just a solid well pull together action rpg. I'm sick of seeing everyone act like everything it does even all its flaws being treated as some master class of game design genius. I swear there's not a thing this franchise does that someone's not writing a thesis on.

>>comes with a comic

I miss this. It's such a simple fun and easy pack in that gives you a bit more info and experience with the character you're buying a toy of. Seriously how much does it actually cost to add in a reprint of AF15 or whatever.
