I've just never understood how we can all universally agree that if someone has an undying desire to cut their fully functioning hand off then that personally is very obviously mentally unwell and needs to be treated with psychotherapy and possibly even anxiety drugs but in that exact same vein, it's entirely choice and self-identity if I want to do exactly that but with my genitals.

Something about this always stuck out to me as completely incoherent. If we're going to allow one then why isn't the other one encouraged and vice-versa? I mean after all, if some random on the internet wants to cut off their leg or hand then it doesn't effect me personally. All the same exact logic applies in the exact same way.

He's cute. He has a really good design as a character and I think him being smart while also being fast enough to catch up and stay in rhythm with Sonic is (well moreso could be) cool. He has a lot potential for growth which lends him to be a prime contender for "second main character" more than most other characters in the franchise with the exception of Shadow.

Unfortunately that's kind of where it fucking ends with him in the realm of reality. You can fanfic and fantasize about all the cool shit he could do and be but he never will be any of those things because he's perpetually locked in as "Sonic's #1 dick sucker".

He COULD be a cool and unique character and during the Adventure era it really did look and feel like they at least had plans or ideas for taking his character forward but that was over 20 fucking years ago and it's plain as day now that he's never going to move past his bitch phase.

He's a Luigi that doesn't get his own side series or spotlight. A Robin who never grows up, evolves or learn anything. A Sarutobi that never learns new moves or gets stronger. A Gohan who never learns how to fight. A sidekick that never progresses to showcase how much stronger/better the hero is.
He is just perpetually stuck and locked on Sonic's dick and thus serves no other purpose than to be that despite everything that COULD be done with him. Just altogether a gigantic waste of potential for himself and the franchise as a whole.

I just wanted at least one arc where Tails was allowed to do cool main character stuff for a bit. Hell just one issue even. Wow, I'm not even going to get that out of IDW.
