Objectively, VF was the best (no surprise) but I liked Lightning Conduit the most.
Feel like rolling another character for shits. Recommendations?

Start with Oath in Felghana. Then, if you liked that, go with Origin and/or VI: The Ark of Napishtim. Then you can try Ys I & II Chronicles(the original combat system is wildly different than the rest in the series, and probably not a good place to start out with. But the bump system is still fun). Then you can pretty much try the rest of them in any order.

How come JRPG protagonists don't look like this anymore?
