The funniest part is that the same writer tried to do the exact same shit when he worked on the closed beta of snowbreak, there was a single male unit (rest of the cast are all female), the MC is incompetent and every female hated him, and the chad dude steals all the girls. Everyone that played rightfully thought it was absolutely retarded, the writer was fired (and went on to work for wuwa beta), the male unit was scrapped and deleted, and the story was rewritten.
The same thing almost happened in GFL2, only that the devs didn't have time to re-record the lines and for 3 months the game had no events and no voiced story, it completely tanked the revenue of the game for a year.
So yeah, it seems that some sort of "people" were around 2022-2023 doing shit in the back, but even chinese devs aren't so retarded to fall for that and scrambled to bring things back. Now these "people" work for mihoyo.
