CALL YOUR FUCKING REPRESENTATIVES. THERE IS A BILL GOING THROUGH THE LEGISLATURE TO STOP SHIT LIKE THIS
I wrote out a brief script to help out anyone in need of it (including myself). Please call your reps so these kinds of people can’t leverage your money against you:
>”Hello. I am calling to encourage your support for Senate bill S.410, the Fair Access to Banking Act. I am a resident of [state] and find the idea of politically motivated debanking incredibly concerning and want to see it regulated immediately. It’s already had an impact on personal defense (firearms), entertainment, and other forms of free expression. Those speaking out against this behavior from entities such as MasterCard and Visa have been getting deplatformed in recent days. It is unconscionable behavior that deserves scrutiny immediately.
>I would also like to add that senate bill S.1671, Interstate Obscenity enables similarly draconian censorship. Passing this bill would severely harm the values of expression S.410 seeks to uphold. Please do not support it.
