the thing that confuses me the most about people calling it a 'tool' or saying it makes it 'more accessible' is the fundamental misunderstanding of what art is. people call any number of different things 'an artform' because of the artistry that goes into whatever the end result is. literally anything humans do can be considered an artform if you're good enough at it, drawing pictures and making music and writing are just the most common because they require the most focus and agency in their creation compared to other more structured and linear tasks.
i think its more like saying electric bikes make cycling more accesible, youre not actually improving your body like you would with your mind while drawing or writing or composing, youre just skipping to the end result that makes you look/feel like youre doing something.
pretty sure this fundamental misunderstanding will just never be something we can get over, in the same way some people will just simply choose to eat unhealthy and never exercise and be fat, despite it reducing their quality of life and restricting them from so much they could be doing. sadly a pretty pointless argument to even start.
