I've only started making money a couple of years ago, and I decided to get married not long after I started working, so no real disposable income for me. I'll just have to stick to emulation, especially in a few years when we decide to have kids and all.

I got to enjoy the SEGA Mega Drive as my 1st console despite growing up in the 2000's because it's the console my dad had and he didn't replace it until it broke in the mid 2000's. I'm fine with that though, because I love this console more than any other. In the following years I got to play other stuff, including a Famicom clone, which was my 1st time owning a Nintendo, and also the PlayStation, which it seems everyone had back then, especially the 2nd one. It was a fun time to grow up, we got to experience the start of the internet as we know it, smartphones and all, but also had contact with cassette tapes and floppy disks too.

Any examples of games that actual oldfags like, but aren't on your typical best games lists?
Example: I see so many people who grew up with SNES who like Sim City. But nowadays I feel like most people skip it.
Another semi-related example: Toshinden. Any time it's brought up, you can be pretty much sure it's people who had PS back in 1995-1997.
