Asahi’s character is neat in that she’s a kid born under the firmament. All the adults know better about how life was and understand that the entire demon situation is a disturbing and dangerous mess. Being a hunter was a necessity for them. Asahi grew up with learning about that hardship and took it as a fact of life and (naively) wanted to be one, even though she gets her ass kicked after her protectors were murdered in front of her.

I don’t remember that she was one? Albeit it’s been awhile since I did a playthrough, but I thought Asahi was just an outsider to all of the reincarnation stuff.

I like Navarre but him being a green blob was meh. Considering the Hunter shtick, would’ve been cool to have him be a disgraced samurai who was hiding with the Unclean ones and took both Nanashi and Asahi under his wing. You know, teach them how a hunter should be even though he’s a mediocre samurai.
