The PS2 era into early PS3 and XBOX 360 coupled with the rise of PC gaming in the late 2000's is the definite renaissance for gaming. The maximum potential of games may be way higher now, but on average games were better and the best games? No contest whatsoever; not to mention that many of the dogshit trends that are the norm in the industry nowadays were nowhere to be seen like microtransactions etc.

Yeah I gotta admit it's one of those ideas where you say it thinking it'd be stupid but then you go 'wait a second maybe this got legs'.
It relitigates prior plots to be sure, "Save what once was or keep moving forward", the shadowbringers relativity of perspective (They'd do what Emet did in his shoes). But I think it's got potential, whether you make it existing shards (Trying to ward off a future threat), or prior sacrificed shards. The real juicy shit would be to make it unclear IF it would actually cause 'anti calamities' (IE a sudden drought of fire or water or lightning aether) or not. So you have a lot of sourcers going

The past two expansions have had some very contemporary real life themes/vibes going on loosely inspiring elements - loneliness with covid for endwalker, AI-shit for dawntrail. So what the gestalt is in Japanese consciousness being- I guess that means 8.0 will be all about children and having families.
