The thing is like DOA. Their fanbase is to look at hot women, but when a game comes out they say they are turning down the fanservice, it is so the company thinks they can advertise to all and get more people that don't get that game series (ignoring the fact of alienating current fans for new ones) then coming back around to get sluttier outfits for dlc.
The companies are trying to so broad and lowest common denominator to get as many people as possible resulting in bland product, instead of making a niche thing shine harder convincing others into the niche.
