Yes and no. It really shows her caring side, that cannot not take care of a stray. To paraphrase Hinata: "She takes them home and makes them fluffy. She really loves fluffy things."
The reality is that she brings him home and puts her fingers in his throat to make him puke in the toilet. Not cute, lol.
At some point, she bumps into Rei and his pudgy friend. She instantly invites him over for dinner and gives him more food.
