didn't peasants have land and a house tho, also didn't peasants only get taxed around 10%, had wives, families, community, clean air, clean food and didn't they only work very hard in the summer months then in winter did much less? ive scythed before, fair few times, few acres at a time with a proper scythe I was shown how to use by a very old catholic woman and honestly it wasn't even that hard, you get into a nice rhythm with it and it feels good to do, even if youre doing it for hours. Usually have someone rake what you scythe behind you, even doing that isn't too bad.
