Unless you're inting, there's very little reason to abandon ADCs, and Support players are just bad at playing selflessly, and trying to get their ADC ahead in any way they can.
They also never played ADC before so they don't know how many illegal moves, and how much griefing they actually do. Support players really do make the role look extremely hard when it isn't.

Most Ezreals play extremely passive when he's one of the most aggressive ADCs in the game.
He's unironically one of my favourite ADCs to lane with, because it's easy to enable ADCs as a Support.
