as someone who played warcraft 1 and 2 as a toddler, played warcraft 3 as a kid and WoW in my teens, this is the correct opinion. the lore has never been consistent in this setting to the point its very frustrating as someone who played the original games; there are like 2-3 different versions of wc's lore that I have in my head and they all conflict with each other. its just a shitty mishmash of various fantasy settings like DnD and warhammer, and those in of themselves are just shitty mishmashes of various fantasy settings that came before them. but at least warhammer seems to have some kind of vision about the struggle of mankind against chaos or whatever, even if the lore isnt ever consistent. what is warcraft even about? the craft of war? war and crafts? its not even about 'orcs and humans' anymore, and they seem to be more about friendcrafting than warcrafting these days
