Proof by contradiction.
You can twist yourself into pretzels trying to justify why parents are never present or students can't seem to recall any memories with them, why everyone's who isn't a female student is some animal creature, why Kivotos itself seems to have no living conception of its own history, why nobody pays taxes, why graduates seem to vanish, etc. etc.
Or you can explain all that very easily by everything being a simulation.
