This video highlights exactly what the AI nodevs keep missing (or more likely intentionally ignoring).
There isn't anything AI can do for game dev that wasn't already possible in a pre-AI world. Am I supposed to be impressed that even in this cherrypicked example of an "AI generated game", all it was capable of creating is something that looks exactly like the thousands of garbage asset flips that have been uploaded to Steam for years? The type of game that people only ever play to laugh at how bad they are?
You never needed AI to help you make a game if you couldn't code, or draw, or model, or animate. There are asset libraries fully of freely available models and textures and scripts and templates that have existed for over a decade now. There are thousands upon thousands of step by step guides and tutorials. Why has no AI nodev ever made a game with all of those resources at their disposal? Because even with all that work already done for them, they were still too lazy. The reality is until you can press a button an have a computer shit out a completely finished AAA game, none of these nodevs are ever going to "make" a game.
