A week ago, I purchased a Dell Optiplex 760 SFF with 4GB RAM, a 500GB HDD, and a Core 2 Duo E8400. I've also purchased a Radeon HD 7750, a PS/2 and serial port, multi-card reader, and a XE power supply, the latter two I'm still waiting to arrive. All of this, so I can have a DX9 XP machine to play around once in a while.
woah now, sonic frontiers is barely a passing product. the thing is unoptimized as fuck and held together with duct tape and glue.
the mediocre, and quite honestly uninspired, cyberspace levels are pretty bad. the coat of paint on the level assets really does not excuse it from rehashing levels in the lamest way possible
Why would I ever play sky rail or city escape in frontiers when I have sa2 on my pc (with mods, imagine that)? It just doesnt feel the way it should with sonic's physics here.
its bad enough we know an entire island got cut so they just slammed in 5 shitty towers, but lets really talk about the open zone stuff. There is no excuse for slamming invisible walls everywhere, regardless if you loved the sections or not.
and half the time you practically get tricked into one anyway with some kind of troll spring or a dash pad. They feel like a glorified tutorial with just one way to do something: there is no player expression when doing a homing attack to a pulley handle.
and what is your mix up to this so things stay interesting? dogshit combat. if you have ever played a decent beat em up, I should not have to explain why this combat just doesnt make the cut. its been so long for me, but I would probably rather
play the warehog than sonic frontiers combat, idk. I have played dmc and bayonetta, there just is no going back to the simple shovelware combat. Some of that stuff in frontiers barely felt animated, mind you. and the cutscenes where two characters yap
while standing still just isnt good enough bro. Trim the fat or animate it. its current year man, this franchise is ~30 years old, I have seen sonic games before this one do better.
we got a game that lasts more than 2 fucking hours like forces did, whoopdey-fucking-doo. we should demand a little more and not learn to accept that as the "standard". A sonic game should be very very replayable (because its fun).
I have not touched frontiers since I got the new ending.
