The game appears to be completely random too which is hilarious. It's literally just AI slop from front to back. You randomly stumble through content and experience random events until you either die after "100 years" which happens in 1 hour of gameplay or die from a random event

If I want to model a character that's going to have lots of variations, eg, 3-4 selectable colors that change various parts of the model and multiple parts of the mesh that may or may not be present, whats a decent way to go about the unwrapping/texturing process so that it's scale able for more options later? gamers think they want rpgs with 1000 weapons. but what they really want is progression. they just don't understand it. it's not about having 1000 weapons, it's about always having that next weapon to grind for. it's about seeing meaning in your grind. ofc grinding just to get a weapon is pointless, but if there's something to do that requires this type of strong weapon, then you'll feel motivated to get it.
that's why old school mmorpgs just werk. just give the player a new tier weapon every 8-10 levels or so and they have fun.
progression is really the most fun part about games. a progression you can feel. going from killing a rabbit to killing a scary murder demon is just satisfying.
a good rpg will not just throw random stuff at the player, but give them a well designed progression to go through. a satisfying progression is really the key to a good game feel.
e.g. genshin has a bit of a problem of progress not being satisfying because it's about waiting for gacha drops and doing daily tasks and all that shit. that's something i dislike about genshin. although it still has enough elements that everything still feels like a progression (even if slow)

Its not even that hard. Take a look at popular indie games and the solution is the same in all of them. Take the real life problem of working hard and earning money and make it easy. Cleaning a house takes 7 hours split across two days, you have to pray for nice weather and you get minimum wage for doing it? In comes Power Wash Simulator where you clean the house in 18 minutes and get paid handsomely for a job well done. Working a till for minimum wage and dealing with the most awful human beings on the planet? In comes X Shop Simulator where everyone is nice and makes $50-200 purchases and you can buy new gear and have it at your door in seconds, then put up in a few more seconds.

Just take something you hate about real life progression, tune it to like 20% difficulty and you're good to go.

I made an algorithm to randomly distribute 40-80% of monster iv points to 1-3 random stats and the remaining points randomly between the remaining stats, and a way to calculate final stats based on monster personality, base stats of the species, ivs, evs, and level
